The agenda is not so far from what we’ve already heard in the campaign. Obama looks to boost the economy (beginning with the middle class) and make it his first priority, he plans to get closer to universal health care, he hopes reform immigration, and promises not to raise taxes.

Also as the first president to utilize the web in order to campaign, not only is Barack on Twitter now, he’s also in FlickR. Check out election day pictures and the tense look on everyone while waiting for Barack’s eventual win.

“No one I know is better at getting things done than Rahm Emanuel,” Barack Obama said about his appointment of Rahm Emmanuel as Chief of Staff. From the looks of it… I think I’ll like this guy.

With his election to the highest office, Barack Obama may not have only become the first black United States president but the first Hispanic president as well. A day after becoming president elect, Barack Obama’s rumored appointment to Janet Napolitano as Homeland Security chief is advantageous to hispanics, especially illegal immigrants.

Governor Napolitano, picked to be on Obama’s transition team today, is a staunch critic of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his approach to illegal immigration. In March 2008, Governor Napolitano took more than a million dollars in state funds from Arpaio which drew a tantrum from him.

Also, another controversial figure in the immigration reform debate - of which Obama supports a plan to grant a path to citizenship for all illegal immigrants - Julie Myers, Assistant Secretary of the Homeland Security for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (famously known as ICE), who herself has had questionable approaches to illegal immigrants, resigned today.

Now if only we adhered to visions of borderless societies… then we’d all be hippies. Wait, let me hug a tree.

To stop gays from going emo today, if I may provide a solution, my suggestion would be for gays to all just move to one state - say, The Virgin Islands, which would be just fitting - or any other state where you could over run the population. That way you can have what you want.
